On the day of the Supreme Court’s hearing on gay marriage, supporters of it rallied at a nearby church and outside the courthouse. Huffington Post writer Jaweed Kaleem wrote about how religious people of different faiths attended those rallies in support of gay marriage and others who rallied against gay marriage.

Pope Francis upset conservative Catholics when he went against a Catholic ritual and washed the feet of two women while doing a foot-washing at a juvenile detention center. Connie Lestch with the New York Daily News wrote how conservative Catholics worry the new pope will not follow conservative procedures.

On Easter, Google raised controversy by putting up Cesar Chavez’s face on the search page instead of something associated with Easter Sunday. Associate pastor of Burke United Methodist Church Morgan Guyton wrote in the Huffington Post how instead of this being against Christianity, it’s Christ-like by using a Christian man.
